Yeah that teaser is a pisser--well done! Can't wait til tomorrow... When I get my preorder in probably about a month comparing with the elite timeframe
it'll go right onto my big walnut desk at my corporate office!! (AKA my not-so-big walnut-colored veneer bookshelf/toy display in my spare bedroom/office
in my apartment).

Awesome !!! I'm a little confused. Has the car finally been released or is this a dealer only car?

These re dealer samples that get air-shipped over to the US first before the bulk of the order comes over by boat later.

![]() I have watched the video several times. Grant you this is niether the polished
video nor is it the full description video. I'm sure the second will be way more informative. I woke up today suprised to find not one but two private
messages asking for my opinion (I won't say from who). So far the ONLY thing I see this car has over the Elite, is the chrome rings around the rocket tubes
and the Batchutes. Niether of wich I am impressed with. The trim rings aren't show accurate and the chutes... those haven't looked good from the word go on any of the versions and I
can only hope the production versions are a little tighter. The ones on the dealer sample look like they were packed by a 10 thumbed myopic rhinoceros. The
chrome beacon cage is even less accurate and therefore less impressive than it's been to date. As far as the seats are concerned...it doesn't matter to
me what they are made of, they're still wrong.
However...at this point i'm going to back off on MY opinions about the car itself because as we saw with the elite, there may be a difference in this and the production version. The base and box, however nice, do not combine with anything else i've seen so far about the car to justify the price tag. ![]()

All I can say is I'm glad I didn't order the Elite or Super Elite! With all the upgrades we have available a better car can be made for a lot less.

WHAT A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!! | #10
|
We have all waited to see what the people at Hot Wheels would bring us for an extra
$200. I mean, the Elite was a pretty good jump from regular to Elite. I was shocked .. no ... upset and very disappointed at the CRAP they claim to be the
Super Elite. WTF!!! All you are getting is a box with a display that .. really, who the hell wants that on their desk. We all take the car out anyway to
display it. I have 3 on preorder and will be calling to cancel those. Hot Wheels really let us all down with this one. I don't care who you are .. there
is no way there is an extra $200 in the Super. COME ON!! A box and a some paint here and there .. oh yea .. ooohhhh a cloth/pleather like material for the
parachutes......who cares, the Elite looks fine, who will be touching them anyway. HOT WHEELS needs to go back to the drawing board on this one. I bet they
will get enough flack to do a reissue with more than a figgin box .... ug ... the display looks cheap too and gaudy. I hope nobody plans to put that display
where people can see it. Ever hear the term "less is more" Just having the car out by itself is cool enough, you do not need some flashy stand to
take away from it. Okay, I'm done ... wow, that feels good to get that off my chest

I just saw the SE in person today. The non chrome rocket tubes look nice, but I have already been able to replicate that look nicely, at a cost of $.79! The
rocket tube rings aren't even chrome-just painted silver! The chutes look even worse in person-loosely packed and puffy! The chutes aren't even
leather, but rather pleather! The metal chute cords look like crap! Also, the five light array under the front part of the arch is painted white, with black
lights! Where dat come from?
I must say though, the metal turbine
exhaust rig is a nice looking touch! I really hate the display base,
even more so in person. The five braided engine cables didn't do anything for me either. In fact, I like the Elite's engine better, with it's
"non-braided" cables. The metal door sils left me cold as well.
I agree with Andy! Purchase a Standard (or Elite if you require an opening hood and trunk with inner details.) and carefully pimp it out with the PMB upgrades, and you will have a much better looking car, at a fraction of the cost! Tim |

If I didn't have 10 thumbs I'd agree 100%--I'm sure a good modeler could blow the SE out of the water with the elite and the mod kits or even the
standard for that matter. I'd have to pay someone or risk a really sloppy finished product if I try myself--I'm guessing a good modeler would want
around the same price as the SE or more. It seems like a lot of time/work.

Regarding the Batchutes | #15

I tried to find "softgoods" online, mostly from sheer curiosity but i'm sure had I found them I would have left a nastygram about the chutes. Who
are they, what do they do, and what other products do they make? Can anyone help here?

In retail or manufacturing, the term "soft goods" can have various meanings-depending upon the industry or the products in question. In the
Hotwheel's Batmobile's case, the term "soft goods", refers to the chutes, as being "soft" in nature-manufactured from softer
material than the rest of the model. Unlike resin or plastic chutes, which would be considered "hard" in nature, or rather simply "hard
goods". Unfortunately in this case, there is no "soft goods" company, which has a complaint department, with which to register your displeasure
with their product! Other than Mattel that is!

I'm not an expert in "soft goods", but if you used a soft vinyl or if you could add some black pigment to some silicone rubber, all you'd
have to do is either make a mold off the an Elite, or Super elite, and you could probably have your own "soft chutes". A female slush mold would work
fine for this, and give you a hollow chute with some give to it. I'm sure there are lots of materials out there that could be poured into a female mold
that would give the proper texture and softness.

Yeah, thanx for gang pounding that one home guys. I guess because of the way it was worded in the upgrades list is why I thought "softgoods" was a
company that provided such items.

I am really disappointed with the SE Batmobile. After reading all the comments here and on other forums and seeing all the video reviews -- I just don't think it's worth the extra money. Especially when they didn't even correct the paint and left over molded labels!!! Coincidentally, my brother called me from a toy store in Japan raving about all the hi end die cast cars there. They sounded much better for about the same price or less. I had 2 on order from www.TowerHobby.com and was torn whether to keep them and maybe sell them off on eBay or cancel the order. As luck would have it, the box arrived dented from UPS on Friday, 9/5. (UPS, USPS, and FedEx all smash stuff coming to my place.) It was very tempting to peek to see if they were OK, but I resisted. I refused delivery and contacted TowerHobby.com to cancel the order. I'd rather pimp the 6 Standards and 3 Elites I got from Amazon.com and TowerHobby.com. It will be more fun and while I work on some I can still display
the others.
